Competition Rules

 These competitions are only open to eligible Club members.

 

McLeay Trophy - Short Range Championship

2 convertible sighters and 10 shots to count at 300, 500 & 600 yds

 

Langley Spoon - Long Range Championship

 

2 convertible sighters and 15 shots to count at 900 & 1000 yds

 

Sir CWA Ray Trophy - Club Championship

 

Awarded to the highest aggregate score in the Short and Long Range Championship

 

Ladies Vase

 

Awarded to the Lady making the highest aggregate score in the Club Championship

 

Novices Cup

Awarded to the Novice making the highest aggregate score in the Club Championship.

 

A Novice is a member within their first two years of shooting and not having won any Club trophy before.

 

The NRA Donegall medal will also be presented with this trophy

 

H J Thomas Trophy

 

2 convertible sighters and 15 shots to count at 1000 and 1100 yds

 

J O Wright Trophy

 

Awarded to the Club member attaining the highest position in the Queens/Kings Prize during the NRA Annual Rifle Meeting

 

Vice Presidents Salver

Awarded to the Tyro (NRA classification) attaining the highest place during the NRA Annual Rifle Meeting

The NRA Donegall medal will also be presented with this trophy if not presented with the Novice Cup

 

Simmons Catastrophe Trophy

 

Awarded to the member suffering the biggest self inflicted catastrophe on or off the ranges during the year

 

Nominations for this trophy are made to the committee.  The Trophy is awarded at the discretion of the committee. Any catastrophe considered to be self inflicted just to win this Trophy will not be considered.

General rules and conditions:-

 

Any .308 ammunition that meets range safety requirements may be used in the Club Championship competitions

 

For all other conditions National Rifle Association Rules of Shooting applicable at the time of shooting will apply

 

The committee may adjust the course of fire of any competition due to target space, time constraints and other circumstances beyond their control on the day of shooting
